Episode 41 – The Satanic Witch

The witching hour is upon us… but we’d rather set the clock back, as we endure the trial of Anton LaVey’s worst book, The Satanic Witch. Back in Episode 24, we gave our infernal opinions about Church of Satan founder Anton LaVey’s The Satanic Bible, but LaVey wrote many more books after that, including in 1971 a slim pink volume now published under the title The Satanic Witch. This is a how-to guide for Satanist women to gain power and influence — but mostly just by way of bewitching men’s zippers. Is this LaVey’s worst book? We sure as Hell hope so.

    Anyone with any substantive claims about the psychological insights of shoulders and salad dressing orders knows where to find us. 😉

    But in seriousness, we all four read the book and these were our opinions. Luck of the draw.

        Not willing to hear another’s perspective on this book.
        Sounds less Satanic and more Christian.
        Here’s a clue to rectifying that:
        More study, less worship.

        Maybe someday you’ll understand Satanism.

      So we should have to cheat and do twice the work to find someone who already likes this book rather than just give listeners our honest opinions about it? Why?

      When we did an episode about the Bible we didn’t talk to a priest. When we did an episode about flat earthers we didn’t talk to Mark Sargent. Why the hell would we? -D

    Finding a person to defend this book would requie an exspansive search.It really is a bad book,and this is coming from the person who at the time of reading The Complete Witch tried really hard to see some good in it.

      So….you complain that they don’t have a balanced perspective that also shows the good of this awful book.
      And then….you post a podcast that ALSO ONLY HAS ONE perspective on the book.
      Good grief, what is it with you CoS people? You guys are pretty damn irritating. And not in the cool edgy way you clearly think you are.
